There are three main styles of standard hose fittings that meet Japanese, US, and British standards. If a hydraulic system has all components connected to one another by brazing or welding, then it is almost impossible to service, let alone replace, a component because the connection is permanent. That is why we need hydraulic fitting, which are removable to improve installation and maintenance convenience. Traditional hose fittings are all-metal ones, meaning that they rely on purely on metal-to-metal contact to create a seal. But this sealing technique is obsolete because threads on those fittings may wear down to create a path for leak around them. Modern-day fittings generally come with rubber seals as a guarantee no fluid will leak around the connection. These fittings are called o-ring type fittings.
